Thiago Silva ready to play against Burnley after taking rest in the previous UCL game

Chelsea’s new summer signing Brazilian, Thiago Silva will start the game against Burnley on Saturday when they will visit Turf Moor for their Premier League game. Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard gave an opportunity to Antonio Rudiger to feature in the Champions League victory against FK Krasnodar and gave a desired rest to the veteran.

The former Paris Saint Germain centre-back, Thiago Silva moved to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer this summer transfer window, and the coach wants to give ample rest to the 36 years old defender so that he will be available in crucial matches of the tournament amidst this congested fixture.

“Thiago is fit. Taking him out of Russia was a maintenance issue,” Lampard told reporters on Thursday as per SportStar reports.

“He could have played if he had to but we had to put it in context of what is ahead of us. I’m making sure we get the best out of him towards the end of the season.”

The Chelsea coach claims that he could have opted Silva to play the UCL match in Russia but he didn’t as he wants him fresh in more crucial matches. He knows the physical conditions after 35 years of age and is aware that Silva will need to be managed efficiently in order to make him deliver his best form.

He also gave an injury update on Spanish keeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga’s injury that he received on his shoulder. He insists that he is recovering well and apart from that there are no recent injuries in the squad although a little fatigued after their trip to Russia.
