Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has asked Paulo Dybala to join him at Stamford Bridge during this summer transfer window.
Recent reports indicated that the Blues are keen on securing the services of the experienced Roma striker, potentially reuniting him with fellow Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.
Dybala, currently contracted with Roma until 2025, is rumoured to have a clause in his contract that allows foreign clubs to acquire him for a reduced fee of €12 million (£10.2 million) in the current transfer window.
Chelsea are still in need of more goal-scoring power after a disappointing season where they only managed to score 38 goals. Despite already securing deals for RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku, who was one of the top scorers in the Bundesliga last season, and Villarreal winger Nicolas Jackson, the Blues are now looking for further reinforcements.
Romelu Lukaku has expressed his desire to leave Chelsea this summer following his loan spell at Inter Milan.
The West Londoners are demanding a fee of £38 million for Lukaku, despite having signed him for a club-record fee of £97.5 million just two years ago. Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal have shown interest in the Belgian striker.
Thiago Silva, an experienced defender at Chelsea, fully supports a potential deal for Dybala. Silva also backs Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in their respective moves to AC Milan, believing they can find success there. As stated by the Daily Mail, the Brazilian defender said:
“I’ve asked Paulo Dybala if it’s true that he’s coming to Chelsea but he didn’t answer! He’s a top player, he’d be a massive signing for us — I’d like it. Pulisic is a good guy, he’s gonna do very well at Milan — same as Loftus-Cheek.”
Dybala has spent one season at Roma, where he had an impressive record of 18 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions under manager Jose Mourinho during the 2022/23 season.
He even scored the opening goal in the Europa League final, which Roma lost to Sevilla in Budapest last month.

The 29-year-old Argentine forward has also represented his country, earning 38 senior caps to date. He was part of the Argentine squad that won the World Cup in Qatar during the winter.
However, the star attacker has revealed recently that he is happy at Roma and will start training tomorrow.
