The German defender and Chelsea’s fan-favorite Antonio Rudiger will be heading towards the Spanish capital following his pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid.
It was reported that the Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti was key in convincing the player to leave Stamford Bridge for Santiago Bernabeu.
The transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Monday morning on his Twitter feed claiming that the Italian manager was key in Rudiger’s transfer to Madrid.

Thomas Tuchel made a big statement regarding his main center-back leaving out through the club’s exit door on a free.
“He informed me some days ago in a personal talk. I have the feeling that we gave everything over many months – me personally but also the club.
“Now we enter into a situation where we could not fight anymore because of the sanctions and Toni said he will leave the club in the summer. Without the sanctions, we would’ve had the chance to keep on fighting, but for many weeks our hands have been tied. I don’t know what would’ve been the outcome, but it’s his decision.”
“It’s not a nice one for us but [we] don’t take it personally, he was an absolutely brilliant level character-wise and on the pitch. He’s a key figure and he will stay a key figure until the end of the season, but we’re disappointed of course.”
Despite Ancelotti’s efforts to persuade Rudiger, the German international’s departure was exclusively related to the club’s ongoing suspension, which has yet to be overturned.
The Blues supporters have showered the 29-year-old with love and respect, and if it hadn’t been for Roman Abramovich’s case with the UK government, there’s a good chance he would still be wearing a Chelsea shirt.
Rudiger would have liked to deliver his supporters the league title this season, but an unfortunate circumstance posed a significant hindrance to his future, forcing him to go outside of London.
Because the former AS Roma defender will be departing in the summer, he will certainly be given a warm send-off at the end of the season.
