Arsenal have made progress in the talks to sign Tammy Abraham from rival club Chelsea with Mikel Arteta’s side having agreed to the player’s wage demand, according to reports from The Express.
The Chelsea forward player who was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with West Ham United and Aston Villa in the fray found a new suitor in Arsenal as of late.
Abraham’s fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge had given birth to talk that the England international will be seeking an exit in this summer’s transfer window in order to grab more first-team action next season.
The Gunners remain on the hunt for a new striker this summer and have identified the Chelsea outcast as a top target with Abraham’s demands of a £125,000-a-week wages likely to be accepted by the North London outfit.
Chelsea are in line to lose a second striker this summer from the first-team camp with Abraham backed to head out the exit door just days after the veteran France international Olivier Giroud sealed a move to Serie A heavyweights AC Milan.
