Chelsea’s young striker Tammy Abraham received a heart-touching birthday message on Instagram from his childhood buddy, Dominic Solanke.
Abraham and Dominic were strike-partners who joined the Chelsea academy together when they were just seven years old. Since then, they became the best friends and together formed a formidable strike force that tore up the defence.
The striker turned 23 on October 2 and Solanke posted a childhood image of himself and Abraham, alongside the popular winger, Arjen Robben on Instagram. The picture was taken in 2004 when Argen Robben played for the Blues and the year the duo joined Chelsea. He left the Blues after three years in 2017 after playing 106 games and netting 19 goals.
‘We have so many good memories together,’ Abraham told the Chelsea FC website last year.
Solanki joined Liverpool at 19 years of age while Tammy remained in his childhood club. They played side by side from U8s to U21s as young professionals.
Still, Abraham turned 23, continuing strongly with his childhood club, having played 54 games and scoring 20 goals in total. The two footballers still share a strong bond and have fond memories of their childhood times spent together in the Chelsea academy.
The Chelsea striker was infamously involved in a penalty taking dispute with the Blues skipper César Azpilicueta in Chelsea’s recent 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, something Frank Lampard confirmed to having been cleared between the two players.
