Spurs hoping to pip Chelsea to signing Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni who has been linked with a move to the Bridge in the recent past.
Bastoni has grown into one of the coveted players in Italy’s top flight and with Inter’s financial troubles well documented, the San Siro camp could be forced to part ways with the defender in the coming transfer windows.
Chelsea have been credited with an interest in moving in for the 23-year-old centre-back and as the new boss Graham Potter heads into his first transfer window at the club, he could be looking to bring in reinforcements to shore up his backline.
According to a report from Inter Live (via The Daily Express), the Blues will have to fend off competition from local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who under Bastoni’s former Inter coach Antonio Conte, are keen to table a bid for the Inter talent.
Bastoni is out of contract at San Siro in the summer of 2024 and if the Serie A giants are unable to tie him down to renewed terms, they may choose to cash in on him rather than lose him on a free transfer.
