Chelsea’s Champions League-winning centre-back Antonio Rudiger is still being eyed by long-term suitors Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain with the onset of the summer transfer window.
Rudiger recently asserted that he was not willing to enter into contract extension talks with the Blues heading into the UEFA Euros and any talk of him extending his stay in west London would take place after the Euros have concluded.
Reports from The Sun claim that with Rudiger’s deal with Chelsea running only until the summer of 2022 and the Germany international showing no inclination of late to extend that, Spurs and PSG are in line to table a cut-price offer for the ex-AS Roma man.
Chelsea have made it clear that they intend to offer Rudiger extended and improved terms to tie down their star defender to a long-term future at Stamford Bridge following his recent rise up the ranks as Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard earlier this year.
The centre-back had admitted to being close to sealing a move away from the Blues this January but ended up staying as he reclaimed his regular starting role in the Chelsea starting lineup in a three-man backline now fielded by the new gaffer.
