Sheffield United 1-2 Chelsea Match Report- Third consecutive win for Tuchel | PL 2020/21

Thomas Tuchel saw the third straight win of his new club, Chelsea as the match against Sheffield United ended in a 2-1 scoreline. He continued his unbeaten run as Mason Mount and Jorginho earned three points for him at Bramall Lane.

Chelsea came to visit Sheffield after defeating Jose Mourinho’s Spurs 1-0 in the Premier League. The match started with Oliver Burke missing a golden opportunity to take a lead in just five minutes. Oliver McBurnie delivered a ball to him which he smashed in the side-net.

Timo Werner’s superb flick was saved from the goal-line by Aaron Ramsdale. Chelsea was relieved when Basham was brought down by Ben Chilwell in the penalty box in just the 12th minute of the game. VAR came to Chelsea’s rescue as it ruled out due to an offside.

But the opening goal came just minutes before the half-time when Mason Mount swiftly struck the ball from 15-yard distance into the bottom left corner to give Chelsea a 1-0 lead.

Sheffield United returned back into the game when Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger’s back pass rolled slowly into the net away from Edouard Mendy. Chelsea got a life-line when Werner was brought down in the penalty box. Jorginho rose to the occasion to convert the penalty and make it 2-1 after VAR’s decision.

The Blues were very sharp at their backline for the rest of the game to secure their 18th win in all competitions.
