Sevilla have handed a deadline no later than July 5 and a sizable 56 million price-tag to Chelsea for top target Jules Kounde, according to a report from The Daily Express.
Kounde has long been linked with a move to the English capital with Chelsea keeping close tabs on the centre-back since last summer but to no avail with Sevilla playing hardball over the pricing front.
The 23-year-old is one of the most coveted names in this summer’s transfer window with the likes of Newcastle United and FC Barcelona joining Chelsea in pursuit of the young France international’s signature.
Sevilla, meanwhile, are growing impatient with the deadlock between them and Chelsea in striking an agreement on the fee for Kounde’s transfer to the west Londoners with the La Liga outfit hoping to plan ahead for the new campaign.
The Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is said to be prioritising a swoop for his long-standing target in Kounde whose arrival at the Bridge is expected to overhaul a depleted defensive roster which has lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer.
