According to Sky Sports, Serie A giants Juventus are now competing for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian’s second stint at Stamford Bridge has been highly disappointing. Despite being signed for a significant fee of nearly £100 million, the Belgian forward only managed to score eight goals in the league.
The Chelsea striker spent the previous season on loan at Inter Milan. While he didn’t secure a consistent starting position, he still managed to contribute with ten goals and six assists in 1,663 minutes of league play.
The Blues are expected to sell the 30-year-old during the summer transfer window, and there have been discussions about a potential return to Inter Milan, where he played a crucial role in their Serie A title win in the 2020/21 season, scoring 24 goals and assisting 11 more.

However, finalizing a deal has proven to be challenging as Inter Milan are facing financial constraints. Sky Sports reports that Juventus, another Serie A club, may intervene and potentially disrupt the transfer.
Juventus, a team that has enjoyed years of dominance in domestic competitions, has faced difficulties recently. They have gone without winning any trophies in the past two years and finished outside the top four last season, a first since 2011.
Currently, signing a new striker is not a top priority for Juventus. However, if their main forward Dusan Vlahovic departs, an opportunity for a new striker could open up.
On the other hand, Chelsea have been active in the summer transfer window. They have already made signings such as Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, while ten players from last season’s first-team squad have left the club.

More transfer activity is expected at Chelsea, as they are working on acquiring Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo, and there are reports of Christian Pulisic being close to a move to AC Milan.
