Chelsea’s loanee, Conor Gallagher is backed by former Chelsea player, Scott Minto and thinks him as the quality prospect amongst all the Chelsea loanees.
The midfielder who is at a loan in West Bromwich is backed to follow the footsteps of Chelsea youngsters, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham. The two young lads broke into the first team after a string of impressive displays and Scott Minto wants the same for Gallagher.
The 20 years old player is about to make his debut in the senior team although he did feature for Slaven Bilic’s side in the league cup. He is ineligible to play against Chelsea as it is his parent club when Chelsea will be meeting West Brom in today’s Premier League match.
Former Blues defender, Minto talked about how Callagher has made the right decision for his future by staying away at loan rather than rotting at Chelsea this season. He has seen him play at Charlton and Swansea at loan and knows the quality in the youngster.
“With my Charlton hat on, I was disappointed that he left halfway through the season,” former Addicks star Minto told.
“It would have been good for him, or no problem for him to experience a relegation fight in his first season. I think he would have kept Charlton up, he is that good.
“I think he is a year off making it at Chelsea, at least. He needs to be at a low-end Premier League where he can play every week. He can follow Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount because it is a big jump from the Championship to Chelsea.”
There are so many players, Callagher can look up to in the Chelsea side like Reece James, Mount, and Tomori who are all young, yet getting opportunities to start for the team.
