Chelsea target Samu Omorodion has spoken out about his future amid the Blues’ unsuccessful attempts to sign him.
Omorodion, during a standout season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, netted nine times in his first full LaLiga run, landing him a spot in Spain’s Olympic team.
Even if his numbers aren’t top-notch, his skills has got big teams interested, like Chelsea.
With Todd Boehly at the helm, Chelsea is all about bringing in top young talent from around the globe.
They recently offered £33 million for Omorodion, but his main club, Atletico Madrid, said no. They think the 20-year-old forward is worth about €80 million and don’t want to let him go.
Despite this, rumors suggest Chelsea made another offer, even after signing other young talents like Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu.
LaLiga transfer expert Matteo Moretto mentioned that Chelsea and their new coach, Enzo Maresca, are particularly fond of Omorodion.
Omorodion, while preparing for the Olympics, spoke to MARCA about his situation.
He expressed gratitude for the support he received from Atletico Madrid.

“I’ve felt a lot of support from everyone at Atletico,” Omorodion shared.
“I’m very thankful for the backing I’ve received throughout the year. The club has reassured me to stay calm and has shown their belief in me, which is incredibly gratifying for any player.”
When asked about Chelsea’s £33 million bid, Omorodion remained unfazed.
“These are market issues beyond my control. Prices are set, and whether they’re reasonable or not, I don’t focus on that. My main concern is doing my best, and right now, my attention is on Atletico.”
Omorodion acknowledged his awareness of the transfer rumors, noting their ubiquity.
“You can’t avoid hearing about these things; they’re everywhere, and your family and friends keep you informed. However, I always say to ignore them because only I know the truth, so I dismiss the speculation.”
He expressed confidence in his representatives to manage these matters.
“I have people who handle things for me and speak on my behalf. I stay calm about these issues and try to keep away from the noise because it can be too stressful, especially since I’m still young.”
For now, Omorodion is focused on his career at Atletico Madrid and is thrilled about the chance to play alongside stars like Antoine Griezmann and Koke.
“Playing with these players is a dream come true. Just a year ago, I watched them on TV, wishing to be on the same field with them. It’s the result of all my hard work, and I’m very happy.”
