Todd Boehly according to the British media is expected to be replaced as club director-general of Chelsea by his colleagues even at an earlier duration which is a result of a rich criticism of the American. Under the ownership of Boehly that took over from Abramovich in May 2022, the latter has so far asserted himself as the lead voice of the new Chelsea ownership.
Although Boehly has a smaller vested interest in the ownership of the Blues than Clearlake Capital with their 61.5%, Boehly has still been hands-on with attending numerous games and taking a more active role at Stamford Bridge as a member of the co-owners with Hansjorg Wyss and Mark Walter.

What is the internal management situation at Chelsea now regarding the position of Boehly?
Chelsea has already penned an agreement that the chairperson could leave the head position each five-year period. Referring to the understanding between the two parties, the board members of the club plan to implement the ‘owner blocking clause’ that would allow them to dismiss Boehly from his position the next season.
Although rumours of discord between Boehly and Clearlake’s main actors, Behdad Eghbali and José Félix, have been denied, Clearlake is acknowledged to be looking for a radical change in the club.
Even though it is not yet clear who will succeed Mr.Boehly, the choices are whether he will internally distribute them among his associates or employ an external candidate. The conditions of the deal stipulate that Boehly is entitled to reclaim the chairman position, which is set in 2032 provided that he keeps his ownership in the club.
Almost two years on, one can aptly say that things aren’t evolving exactly as Boehly and the consortium shaped perhaps since the mutual acquisition of the club for £2.5 billion.
In spite of pulling the strings in the transfer market with a reported figure of £1.5 billion, the club is currently at eleventh position on the English Premier League table after being led by Mauricio Pochettino.
The result was the unpleasant reaction during a match where Chelsea suffered defeat from an injury-plagued Liverpool in the recently played Carabao Cup.
