Romelu Lukaku’s talks for a return to Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of an agreement with Inter holding a three-hour negotiation with Chelsea to strike out the terms of the loan deal.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, Inter’s owner Steven Zhang has finally given the nod to the loan transfer that is worth an initial fee of £6 million with an extra £1.7 million in potential add-ons.
The player’s future at the Bridge had sparked off intense speculation as of late with his former club Inter emerging the clear frontrunners to land his signature despite Chelsea holding out for an increased asking price.
Lukaku has not hidden his desire of making the move back to San Siro this summer after a miserable campaign in England’s top flight last term for the Belgium international who joined Chelsea in a club-record deal.
The 29-year-old netted just 15 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea despite much being expected from his clinical ability in front of the goal that had come to notice during the Serie A-winning 2020-21 season at Inter.
