Romelu Lukaku’s plan of a return to Inter Milan could run into trouble with the Serie A giants unlikely to cede to his wage demands which run up to £325k-a-week.
The Chelsea flop signing is understood to have held video calls with Inter’s top brass to chalk out his switch back to Italy’s top flight just a summer into making the move to Stamford Bridge, claims a report from The Sun.
Lukaku’s struggles in the attacking third have been well documented as of late and it is believed that the Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is open to parting ways with the Belgium international striker this coming summer.
Inter Milan are keen on Lukaku’s move back to San Siro but the Italians, owing to their financial woes, would not be able to afford Lukaku’s pay package with the Chelsea man set to take a huge wage cut should he want to sign for his former club.
Lukaku, who put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the west London giants Chelsea last summer, is the club’s highest earner with an annual salary north of £10 million.
