Inter Milan talisman Romelu Lukaku is persistent to stay put at San Siro beyond this summer’s transfer window despite Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea keeping close tabs on the Serie A hitman.
Lukaku has been heavily linked with a move away from Inter Milan back to the Premier League with his former club Chelsea in the fray to land his much-coveted signature before the transfer window slams shut.
The Belgium international forward player’s goalscoring numbers following his move to Italy from Manchester United has made him one of the top attacking talents in world football and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on bringing him back to Stamford Bridge.
Reports from Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, however, suggest that the 28-year-old Lukaku will resist any attempts from Chelsea to lure him with a move to London despite a major wage bump understood to be offered from the Blues camp to the Inter Milan star.
Chelsea have failed to supplement their attacking ranks this summer with long-term target Erling Haaland unlikely to sign for them ahead of the next season’s start and Lukaku too making it clear he does not want a move back to the Premier League.
