Chelsea’s on-loan forward Romelu Lukaku is said to be not keen on a return to west London despite the appointment of a new head coach in Graham Potter.
Lukaku was shipped out on a season-loan loan to Serie A giants Inter Milan in the summer transfer window following the Belgian’s below par campaign back in England and a rumoured rift with then-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel has since departed after the Blues endured a shaky start to the new season and the Chelsea owners have brought in the highly-rated Graham Potter as the replacement for the top job at Stamford Bridge.
Potter’s hiring, however, is unlikely to mean a U-turn in Lukaku’s plans of staying put at San Siro beyond the end of the campaign with the striker Lukaku still holding no interest in returning to the English capital next summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is understood that the Inter camp are in the process of opening talks with Chelsea to extend Lukaku’s loan spell by another 12 months with the player’s recent injury niggle causing him to miss the last six games.
