Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Andreas Christensen returned to training ahead of Chelsea’s clash over the weekend away at Aston Villa.
Forward pairing Lukaku and Hudson-Odoi had been sidelined for Chelsea’s draws against Everton and Wolves in league action after their testing positive for COVID-19 amidst the rising cases in the Stamford Bridge fold.
Dane defender Christensen, meanwhile, missed out on the nil-nil affair at the Molineux last weekend due to a back injury with Thomas Tuchel forced to draft his breakout star Trevoh Chalobah in the heart of the defence.
According to reports from the club’s official website, Lukaku, Hudson-Odoi and Christensen were back in training for the west Londoners in the build-up to the Boxing Day league outing against Steven Gerrard’s in-form Aston Villa outfit.
Thomas Tuchel’s men will be backed for a return to much-needed winning ways on their travels to the West Midlands for the second Sunday on the trot as the league leaders Manchester City move clear of the Blues with a six point gap at the summit.
