Chelsea could be in for a slight concern on the injury front ahead of the weekend’s Premier League action with Romelu Lukaku admitting he will be undergoing a scan on his thigh on a “minor issue”.
Reports from Goal claim that Lukaku, who has been away from Stamford Bridge while on international duty with Belgium, will be returning to the Chelsea fold but after some medical examinations.
“I’ll have a scan of my thigh first. I have been struggling with a minor issue for a while. Then I will return to Chelsea.”
Lukaku’s absence, despite that outcome being unlikely should the injury scare be a minor niggle, could be a setback for Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea considering the player’s importance to the team.
This summer’s marquee arrival at the Bridge scored on his debut outing for Chelsea in the win over Arsenal before putting in a lacklustre display last time around against Liverpool at Anfield in a game that finished in a draw.
Thomas Tuchel’s men are next up against Aston Villa with the Blues hoping to carry on their unbeaten run when taking on Dean Smith’s side on home turf.
