Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly set to hold out on Barcelona’s approach for forward pairing Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.
Both players had been linked with a move to Camp Nou where club icon Xavi has taken charge following Ronald Koeman’s sacking from the top job after a disastrous run of form for the Catalan outfit.

According to reports from Sport, however, it is suggested that the Blues owner Abramovich is planning to delay a potential sale of Werner and Ziyech to Barcelona unless the Spanish side fails to reach the Champions League knockout stages.
Abramovich is keen to avoid Barcelona playing spoilsport to Chelsea’s ambitions in the Champions League and wants to stall the approach made by Xavi’s camp for the Werner-Ziyech duo who have fallen down the pecking order in the English capital.
Romelu Lukaku’s return to the Bridge in the summer has ensured limited first-team football for Werner and Ziyech under Thomas Tuchel who might be willing to sanction the pair’s sale in the forthcoming transfer windows.
