Robert Huth slams Chelsea’s Kai Havertz by criticizing his body language on pitch

Kai Havertz has been criticized by the three-time Premier League winner Robert Huth upon his poor performances and dull appearance in the Premier League. The German winger was very hyped when he signed for the Blues in the summer transfer window at a huge sum of 72 million pounds for Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

Being just 21 years old, Havertz created a buzz amongst the football lovers but greatly disappointed them with his poor performance as he could manage only one goal in the last sixteen games that he played so far.

Havertz’s failure has also resulted in Chelsea’s bad display too as the Blues dropped down in the point table after losing five out of eight matches they played. Huth, who captained the side for their two titles win, has criticized Havertz and says he doesn’t look ‘bothered’ at times.

‘It’s all well and good saying he needs to be the main guy but he’s at a big club and he needs to make that happen himself. Now is the time to shine,’ Huth told Stadium Astro

‘I just don’t like his body language at all, he looks a bit lightweight. It’s his first year, but he looks like he’s not bothered at times. He loses the ball, gives it away, and doesn’t work back. It is a difficult time to come in with no fans, but you just want to shake him.’

‘We used to have [Riyad] Mahrez in our changing room [at Leicester] who got a lot better, but the team took care of him by saying “you can’t just do one side of it or 10 minutes of the game”.

Huth also commented on the leadership of Chelsea and urges to improve for the future games to be played by them. He emphasized that the captain must come forward and talk with the players and motivate for better performance in between the match. Havertz also needs motivation on the field to improvise his performance.

‘Maybe Chelsea lacks that internal leader or leaders where that conversation happens. It’s not always a nice conversation to have when you’re not performing well, but it needs to happen. He needs someone to tell him what it takes to play in the Premier League. Maybe the whole changing room is a little bit too nice.’

Huth also discussed Timo Werner’s form for the Blues. The Germany striker – who cost £50m – has scored just four Premier League goals but none since November. Werner started well,’ Huth added.

‘We can talk about whether he should play down the middle or on the wing, but the fact is that he just can’t score at the moment. ‘He does get chances. He does get in positions, we have seen it before with strikers, he is in one of those phases where he needs a goal and his confidence builds.’

Havertz’s Chelsea has to face Luton Town in the FA Cup on Saturday before restarting their campaign to Premier League action next Wednesday against Wolves.
