Reece James takes complete responsibility for what happened in the England versus Denmark game after the final whistle of the referee.
James uploaded an Instagram post to regret his actions that led to his unnecessary red card on his England debut on Wednesday. The talented full-back vowed to never do the same and learn from the experience.
The Chelsea youngster was the stand-out performer for England despite getting beaten by Denmark on a 1-0 in the Nations League. When everybody thought that Maguire’s red card was the only drama of the match after the game finished, the unthinkable happened.
James exchanged words with the referee and criticized continuously even after the final whistle which made the referee pull out his red card.
The 20-year-old revealed later that he was caught up in the heat of the moment and therefore had to be calmed down by his teammates.
‘Tonight’s game was full of emotion, desire and hunger. Proud to have made my full senior debut in such a testing game,’ he said.
‘I take full responsibility for the red card after the final whistle. Moments like this will make me stronger, I’ll continue to put in 100% day in day out to keep improving!
‘Thank you for your continued support, I love you all!’
The 20 years old James was given the first senior team start of his career. Although he made some terrible news with that incident, the fact that he was the main performer of the team should not be neglected.
He had a stellar individual display as he delivered numerous accurate crosses into the box. His link-up with his club teammate, Amson mount was tremendous. But the players could not take any opportunity created by James.
