Stamford Bridge hero Eden Hazard has played down recent talk of him staging a return to Chelsea in the summer with the Real Madrid man asserting that he intends to honour his deal with the Spanish giants.
Hazard left Chelsea in the summer of 2019 to sign for Real Madrid but his life in the capital city of Spain has not been a hit, giving birth to speculation that the Belgian star might be willing to return to his former side Chelsea to regain his ability on the pitch.
However, Hazard has put an end to such rumour-mongering by saying that despite his first two years in the Real Madrid shirt not going the way he had hoped, he was pushing hard to recapture his form for the upcoming season as he reiterated his desire of staying put at the club beyond the summer window, according to reports from football.london.
“I still have a three-year contract with Real Madrid, so going back to England is out of the question.
“Everyone knows that my first two years were not good, so first I want to prove myself at Real Madrid. I will do everything to do that.
“I certainly don’t see myself leaving Madrid, given the contract situation.
“I know myself and I know when I’m in shape. If that’s the case, I can give it my all for Real next season. That’s my plan.”
Hazard’s former Chelsea are believed to be keen on signing a big-name forward this summer with Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku looking the likely target for Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku, Hazard’s teammate for the Belgium national side, has enjoyed an incredible last season with 24 goals on his way to clinch the Serie A title with the Nerazzurri.
