Real Madrid are set to battle it out with Chelsea for the signature of City star winger Raheem Sterling whose future continues to draw much attention this summer.
The England international is heavily expected to call it quits with the Premier League champions Manchester City ahead of the next season’s start with some of Europe’s biggest sides closely monitoring his situation.
According to a report from The Times, it is claimed that the Spanish champions Real Madrid, fresh on the back of their Champions League triumph over Liverpool, are keen on making a swoop for Sterling’s services.
This turn of events could prove to be an upsetting setback for Chelsea with the boss Thomas Tuchel on the hunt for a new attacking signing to bolster his ranks after an underwhelming campaign from his forward roster across the 21-22 season.
Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are understood to be mulling over exits from the Stamford Bridge fold with Tuchel likely to sanction their sales should Chelsea receive a reasonable offer from the interested parties.
