Real Madrid are set to turn their attention to Niklas Sule following a setback in their longstanding pursuit for Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger.
The Germany international central defender had been long linked with a move to the Spanish capital in the summer with his deal at Stamford Bridge due to expire and no headway on the long drawn out negotiations with the Chelsea board.
Attempts by Real Madrid to lure away the contract rebel Rudiger from Chelsea, however, have failed with the player’s wage demands deemed too high for his suitors to agree upon and land his signature.
According to reports from the Spanish news outlet Todo Fichajes, it is suggested that Chelsea could be in line to retain their star defender beyond the end of the campaign with Real identifying Bayern Munich first-teamer Niklas Sule as an alternative in the market.
Sule has less than six months left on his current deal with the Bavarian outfit and is increasingly likely to call it quits at Bayern to be made available as a free agent come the summer window.
