Real Madrid are planning to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga next summer and they are proposing a cash-plus-player exchange deal, according to the Sun.
The Blues made the Spanish star the most expensive goalkeeper in history in 2018, shelling out £71.6 million to sign him from Athletic Bilbao.
While Kepa had his moments of success in a Chelsea shirt, especially last season, his overall tenure cannot be deemed a successful one.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Edouard Mendy shared goalkeeping duties with the player. With the arrival of Robert Sanchez in the summer and Kepa’s loan to Real Madrid, the path was clear for Sanchez to become the starting goalkeeper.

The youngster’s opportunity at Madrid came about because Thibaut Courtois suffered an ACL injury. The 29-year-old has performed well at the Bernabeu, with Real having lost only one of the 12 matches he’s started.
Kepa has openly expressed his desire to make his move to the Spanish giants permanent when the loan period ends. Madrid are now considering an early move to secure his permanent signing, possibly as early as January.
They are reportedly prepared to make an early move to secure the shot-stopper’s permanent signing after his strong performances during his loan spell.
However, they are only willing to offer a transfer fee of £17.5 million, significantly less than the £71.6 million Chelsea paid for him over five years ago.
The question remains whether the Blues would accept such a reduced fee. To sweeten the deal, Madrid are looking to include their backup goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin.
Chelsea might be willing to part ways with Kepa, especially as they continue to have faith in Sanchez, despite some recent nervy moments.
