Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro eyed up by Thomas Tuchel

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is reportedly eyed up by Thomas Tuchel who is keen on making a move for the Brazil international.

According to reports from the Spanish news outlet El Nacional, Thomas Tuchel has pushed for the Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to make a swoop for Casemiro’s signature in the summer of 2022.

Tuchel landed Atletico Madrid first-teamer Saul Niguez on deadline day this summer but the Spaniard’s woeful run of form since his arrival has sparked off the speculation that the Blues boss will look for alternative names in the transfer market.

Chelsea could be in line to table an approach for a new name on the radar at the Bridge in Casemiro with rumours suggesting that Real Madrid could be open to parting ways with the Brazilian for a fee of £51 million.

Casemiro’s current deal with the Spanish heavyweights comes to a close in July 2025 with the midfielder earning an extension earlier this year on the back of his stellar showings in the centre of the park.
