Presnel Kimpembe has reportedly asked Paris Saint-Germain to consider Chelsea’s interest in moving in for his signature this summer, according to The Sunday Times.
The French central defender has emerged as a top target at Stamford Bridge of late with Chelsea’s stepping up of efforts to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla falling in vain with Barcelona said to be keen on the La Liga star.
Kimpembe has requested the PSG camp to let him explore his options following Chelsea making an approach to sign the left-footed centre-half who is also wanted by Serie A giants Juventus in the summer transfer window.
The Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel remains on the hunt for another centre-back to add to his options at the back after the twin exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen hit the Chelsea ranks hard before the start of the next season.
Tuchel has brought in Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli with the Senegal international’s arrival at the Bridge set to give much-needed quality to the backline which could lose another long-serving mainstay in the skipper Cesar Azpilicueta.
