The latest reports have claimed that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are interested in bringing back Chelsea winger Pedro back to Spain in the upcoming January transfer window.
Pedro made the move to the Premier League back in 2015 when he joined West London side Chelsea from Barcelona in a £19 million deal and the Spanish star has aided the Blues to win the Premier League, FA Cup, and the Europa League during his time at Stamford Bridge.
But ever since the appointment of English manager Frank Lampard at the helm in the summer, Pedro hasn’t really managed to nail a starting berth for himself in the starting eleven. The 41-year-old Lampard has preferred to promote youth and give the youngsters at the club an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Meanwhile, Pedro has managed only three Premier League appearances this season and the 32-year-old is reportedly looking for an exit from the London side. The January transfer window is fast approaching and top clubs in the European continent are looking to make a move for their targets, Atletico Madrid wouldn’t hesitate in making a move in the winter transfer window for Pedro if the Spaniard spends more time on the bench rather than playing regular football at Chelsea
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone believes that Pedro can be a good addition to his squad and with seven years of playing experience under his belt in La Liga with Barcelona, he should not take much time settling down in his native.
Pedro has not managed to make an impression on his new boss and therefore might consider moving away from Chelsea in order to play more often as he is entering his twilight years.
