Chelsea winger Pedro would “drop everything” in order to return to Barcelona as he prepares to enter the final six months of his Chelsea contract which expires at the end of the campaign.
The former Spain midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit from Chelsea in the winter transfer window as the Blues will be able to sign players in January following the decision of their transfer ban being halved on appeal by the FA.
The 32-year-old Pedro is entering the twilight years of his career and has made just 10 appearances for the Blues under new manager Frank Lampard this season. But he has made no attempt to hide his interest in moving back to the Camp Nou in Barcelona.
Pedro was handed his senior debut by current Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola when the Spaniard was in charge of La Blaugrana, who coached him in the B team, and the playmaker went on to win five LaLiga titles and the Champions League on three occasions with the Catalonian club.
Since joining Chelsea back in the summer of 2015 from Barcelona Pedro has won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup but still insisted that he is desperate to return to Barcelona. In a recent interview Pedro explained, “If Barca calls me, I’ll drop everything. There was a moment in pre-season when we played against Barca that, after talking with the coach, I saw a chance, but the door closed quickly. At this point, I don’t know what will happen to me, just that I’m contracted to Chelsea until the end of the season.”
