Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have leapfrogged the new contenders in Chelsea to land the signature of the Inter Milan wantaway full-back Achraf Hakimi, according to reports from The Mirror.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea had emerged as surprise candidates for the Inter defender who is linked with a San Siro exit ahead of the next season after enjoying title-winning success with the Italians last time around.
Hakimi carries a big-money price tag which is rumoured to be in the region of £58 million and it is understood that the Parisians have no concerns over it as they aim to secure his signing ahead of other rival clubs in the race.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would emerge once again in the mix to make a move for the 22-year-old Hakimi who is tipped for a bright future and his ability carries much value despite his young age.
A £7m-per-year contract is to be given to Hakimi should his move to Paris Saint-Germain be confirmed in the near future with the French outfit moving clear of Chelsea for now to secure one of the most significant deals in this summer’s transfer window.
