AC Milan have made some major headway in their pursuit of the World Cup-winning Frenchman Olivier Giroud who has reportedly agreed upon personal terms with the Italian side.
Reports from Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that the veteran Chelsea forward is just one step away from finalising his departure from Stamford Bridge which had been subject to much speculation heading into the UEFA European Championships.
However, Chelsea stand in the way of sanctioning his sale to the Serie A giants who have taken great interest in the former Arsenal man with the onset of the summer transfer window.
Giroud had signed a one-year-long contract extension recently with the Blues but the France international had admitted that ruling out his exit from the club would be quite premature as he seeks a greater first-team role.
Since Tuchel’s appointment to the top job, the new Chelsea boss has chosen to field Timo Werner in the No.9 role on an extended basis which has given birth to talk that the likes of Giroud and Tammy Abraham will be offloaded by the west Londoners this summer.

Giroud is in line to pocket a salary worth €4 million from AC Milan and is backed to sign a two-year deal with an option to extend it further by another year.
