The centre forward joined Olympic Club de Froges’ academy when he was a youngster, before joining professional club Grenoble at the age of just 13.

He played six seasons in their youth system, before making his professional debut in 2005, going on to score two goals in 24 first-team appearances for the club.

On 13 November 2018, Sony Pictures France has confirmed on Twitter that Giroud has landed a role in French-dubbed version of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (known as Spiderman: New Generation in France) as the voice of the Green Goblin.

He will be joined with PSG defender and France colleague Presnel Kimpembe, who takes on the role of Scorpion.

Giroud scored an outstanding ‘scorpion kick’ goal for Arsenal against Crystal Palace in 2017 which won the FIFA Puskas Award. The scorpion kick is also known as a reverse bicycle kick or back hammer kick. He celebrated many of his goals by doing the imitation of the scorpion kick since scoring that goal.

The move looks almost like a forward cartwheel and involves throwing the body forwards, placing the hands on the ground to kick the back heels in front so as to kick an approaching football.The move gets its name from the player’s resemblance to a scorpion’s tail while performing the kick.

Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita is attributed with the invention of this advanced football skill.

15) Giroud has a liking for the number 12 jersey

Giroud dons the No. 18 for Chelsea which came as a surprise considering his liking for t he number 12 jersey. For Arsenal, he wore the No. 12 shirt throughout his five-plus seasons at the club.
