Chelsea midfield man N’Golo Kante will not link up with the rest of his teammates who are on their way to Sweden for Tuesday night’s Champions League outing against Malmo.
Thomas Tuchel’s men are set to face the Swedish outfit in the group stage fixture but Kante is sidelined for the clash with the Frenchman not a part of the travelling party, confirmed reports from the club’s official website.
Kante’s absence for the midweek contest in the Champions League will add to Thomas Tuchel’s woes on the injury front with the Chelsea manager reeling in Mateo Kovacic’s spell on the sidelines.
Tuchel will likely turn to his new recruit Saul Niguez to partner Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the centre of the park for the Blues with the former backed to make an impression sooner rather than later following his deadline day move to the Bridge this summer.
Jorginho will be in line for some well-earned rest in the upcoming game with the Italy international likely to be deputised by Loftus-Cheek or Ross Barkley in the midfield role alongside Saul.
