Chelsea are on the road this weekend in the Premier League with Thomas Tuchel’s table-toppers set to face Newcastle United.
The Blues last turned out earlier this week at home turf against Southampton in the EFL Cup Round of 16 clash in a game that was decided through a penalty shootout with Chelsea claiming a narrow win.
Here is how Tuchel is expected to set up his Blues starting eleven for the weekend outing against Newcastle –
3-4-2-1
Edouard Mendy will be in line for a return to the goal for Chelsea after sitting out the midweek contest in which Kepa deputised between the sticks.
Expect major changes in the backline with the likes of Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta set for recalls with both defenders injured for the last outing.
Ben Chilwell will be tipped for slotting in at the left wing-back role which will mean Marcos Alonso dropping down to the bench and the Spaniard is likely to be joined by his compatriot Saul Niguez to make way for Jorginho’s return.
In Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner’s absence, Kai Havertz is backed to lead the line once again for the visitors to St. James’ Park.
