Newcastle United have reportedly identified Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as a top target for the forthcoming summer transfer window.
The England international is expected to leave Stamford Bridge come the end of the season with the Chelsea hierarchy preparing a major clearout of their squad to trim the size and raise much needed funds.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, it is claimed that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, who has steered the Magpies to a possible top-four finish this term, has his sights set on a move for the out-of-favour Chelsea man Gallagher.
The former Crystal Palace loanee is not expected to stay put at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer window with Chelsea prepared to cash in on him for a sizable fee and set the stage for a squad rebuild under the incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino.
