Newcastle United could look to make a January swoop for Ross Barkley with the Chelsea midfielder high on their priority list for the forthcoming transfer window.
The Magpies on the back of the recent takeover by a Saudi Arabia-based group are backed to make major moves in the transfer market sooner rather than later to bring in big-name signings and bolster the roster at St. James’ Park.

However, reports from Eurosport claim that January’s transfer window should see short-term fixes being the need of the hour for Newcastle and Chelsea’s midfield man Ross Barkley features on the shopping list.
The England international has been right on the fringes at Stamford Bridge since his return to the fold this summer after a season-long loan stint with Aston Villa and was surprisingly retained by Thomas Tuchel beyond the summer window.
Chelsea will not be standing in the player’s way should he want to leave the club to sign for Newcastle United in January with Tuchel keen on getting rid of deadwood within his ranks for a reasonable bid coming his way.
