Newcastle boss Eddie Howe wants to move in for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe wants to move in for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer with the latter a top target for the Magpies.

The England international Gallagher was heavily linked with a move to St. James’ Park in the January transfer window but ended up staying at the Bridge and it remains to be seen whether he has a long-term future in the Chelsea shirt.

He has struggled for regular game time under the charge of the new boss Graham Potter and the Blues camp could decide to cash in on the midfielder who has the Saudi-backed Newcastle United keen on his signature ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

According to a report from The Atheltic, it is claimed that the Magpies manager Eddie Howe is an admirer of Gallagher who has not impressed upon his return to Chelsea last year from a terrific loan spell with city rivals Crystal Palace.

Chelsea are expected to add another midfielder to their ranks over the summer after snapping up Argentine World Cup star Enzo Fernandez in January and this could spell out the end of Gallagher’s stint with the west Londoners.
