Emerson Palmieri has his long-term suitors Napoli table an opening bid worth €15 million with the ball now being in Chelsea’s court over accepting the offer coming their way and sanction the defender’s sale.
The Italy international is a fringe player in Thomas Tuchel’s senior ranks and has been heavily backed to exit Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window amid interest from his homeland.
Inter Milan have also registered their interest in signing the left-back but with Emerson’s former boss Antonio Conte departing the Serie A champions ahead of next season, it remains to be seen whether Inter want to take on the Chelsea outcast.
Reports from CalcioMercato have indicated that it is Napoli who have made the first move ahead of rivals Inter to sign Emerson and bolster their defensive line heading into the new season.
Chelsea are understood to have no concerns over parting ways with Emerson as the player is down the pecking order behind the likes of Ben Chilwell and Macros Alonso and is not expected to grab much game-time going forward under Tuchel.
