Serie A club, Napoli has joined the race to sign Chelsea’s midfielder, Tiémoué Bakayoko. The sudden introduction of Napoli in the chase has garnered speculations about his future.
As per the reports of Sport Witness and L’Equipe, Napoli’s coach Gennaro Gattuso is on the verge to seal a deal with Chelsea. They have moved ahead of the competitors and will likely sign him just before the transfer season ends.
The Italian club was initially offered a bid of €2 million as a loan fee which would’ve covered Bakayoko’s €3.5m yearly wages. But the Chelsea board declined the offer as they want to insert at least a purchase option rather than offloading temporarily.
However, the issues between both the parties have been resolved as the clubs have reached an agreement. Napoli has accepted Chelsea’s propositions and media reports say that the deal can be sealed in just a few hours.
European clubs like AC Milan, Valencia, and PSG were all keen to take the defensive midfielder in their side, but none could agree with the terms and conditions sput out by Chelsea board for the loan fee. Now it seems that the 26 years old midfielder will join the Italian side finally under Gattuso rather than AC Milan.
