Michael Ballack believes Kai Havertz could benefit greatly from Lampard’s counsel

Michael Ballack has put his weight behind Frank Lampard’s ability to harness the best out of potential Chelsea FC signing Kai Havertz. Ballack, an ex-Chelsea FC fan-favorite, played alongside Lampard for four seasons at Stamford Bridge, with the pairing becoming a force to reckon within the center of the park.

The 21-year old Havertz has emerged as the Blues primary transfer target this summer. Chelsea FC are extremely keen on securing the German’s signature ahead of next season, according to reports. Moreover, recent speculation has stated that the Bayer Leverkusen starlet may already have agreed upon personal terms with Lampard’s side.

The ex-German international Ballack believes that with Lampard’s past track record of being a fantastic goalscoring midfielder, Havertz could learn a lot from the Chelsea FC boss. Ballack added that Havertz’s talent would allow him to progress further under the guidance of the 42-year old Lampard.

‘I firmly believe that Lampard would be 100 per cent behind Havertz’

‘Havertz is a player that Lampard would help further develop, not least because he himself was a midfielder with an eye for goal, who was always moving into dangerous areas, looking to finish off a chance.’

Upon a potential move to the West London outfit, Havertz would have the opportunity to play alongside Timo Werner. The latter, a new Stamford Bridge arrival himself, has linked up with Havertz previously on several occasions for the German national team.

The young German international boasts of a spectacular record in front of the goal during his Bundesliga stint. The 21-year old playmaker has scored 46 goals and provided 31 assists in 150 games for Leverkusen.
