Mauricio Pochettino turns down initial approach to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has turned down an initial approach to replace the embattled Graham Potter at Chelsea.

Pochettino emerged as an option for the Chelsea hierarchy who appear to have lost faith in their recent appointee Graham Potter following Chelsea’s disastourous run of results since the turn of the year.

Despite Potter understood to have the backing of the Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, many in the Stamford Bridge camp believe a new face in the dugout could steer the club back to winning ways for the second half of the season.

According to a report from 90min, the ex-Spurs head coach Pochettino, who was last in work at Paris Saint Germain where he won the Ligue 1 in 2022, has rebuffed the chance to make the move to west London and join Chelsea.

Pochettino has voiced his desire to return to the Premier League but the report claims that the Chelsea job, should it be made available to the Argentine coach, does not tick the boxes for him to consider at present.
