Chelsea departures in this window are set to hit the £150m mark.
After their spending spree in the last two transfer windows, the Blues have been desperate to shore up finances in order to sign their targets this summer. All things are looking to go in the right direction for them, as they’ve been offloading players and are set to continue with their fire sale.
The club from West London have just agreed a deal with AC Milan for Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The midfielder has commanded a price tag of £15m, which doesn’t seem like much but Chelsea would be content with getting a figure like that. Milan is also interested in another Chelsea midfielder, that being Christian Pulisic.
The exodus doesn’t stop there, however. Chelsea are serious about trimming their squad, and they’re looking to get rid of some key players to make sure that happens. Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City and Kai Havertz to Arsenal are all but done, and the contingent leaving for Saudi Arabia is seemingly growing by the day.
Kante’s move to Al-Ittihad earlier last week has seemingly persuaded various players from the team to seek out their big-money move to the Saudi Pro League, with Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech, and Edouard Mendy all being linked with clubs from the country.
Romelu Lukaku is the next departure on the shortlist, with the Belgian striker being linked with a more permanent move this time around. The striker spent last year on loan at Inter Milan and is looking to continue at the same club this year as well. Inter wanted to take him on another season-long loan, but the offer was swiftly rejected by Chelsea who are hoping to offload him for good.
Reports from Milan are stating that Inter’s next offer is a season-long loan with a €30m option to buy once the season ends. Chelsea are likely to accept this offer, but they will look to push Inter for a loan deal with an obligation to buy rather than an option.
