According to reports, Inter Milan have opened talks with Chelsea FC over the availability of Marcos Alonso this summer. The Spaniard is understood to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge with Frank Lampard on the hunt for a new left-back signing ahead of next season.
The Serie A side’s boss Antonio Conte had earlier worked with Alonso during the former’s stint at Chelsea FC. And now speculation indicates that the Italian coach will be glad to secure a move for his ex-player to the Nerazzurri. Inter Milan would aim to pose a serious title challenge to Juventus come next season and defensive reinforcements are a must for Conte’s side.
Alonso is believed to open to the idea of signing for the Nerazzurri this summer. The 29-year old has played in the Italian league previously for Fiorentina. It was at that club that the Spaniard’s performances had encouraged the Blues to sign him in 2017.
However, Alonso has been unable to replicate his earlier run of form this season for Chelsea FC under Lampard. The Blues manager is understood to be on the look for suitable buyers for the 29-year old full-back. Reports suggest that Chelsea FC will demand a €30 million fee to sanction Alonso’s sale this summer.
