Marcos Alonso could hand in a transfer request at Stamford Bridge this summer to force a move to Barcelona which is the wing-back’s preferred destination.
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea appear to be playing hard ball over Alonso’s exit from the club in the summer transfer window with Tuchel looking to dip into the market for a viable replacement in the left wing-back role.
Ben Chilwell remains Tuchel’s first choice option in that position and the Blues head coach wants to bring in a new signing to provide cover for the England international who has recently returned from a long-term injury layoff.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, it is claimed that Alonso could be forced to hand in a formal transfer request at the Bridge should his situation not change in the forthcoming days.
The 31-year-old Spaniard has just one year remaining on his current terms with the west London giants and is rumoured to be a top name on the shopping list for this summer at Barcelona.
