Manchester United are said to have an interest in signing Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah in the January transfer window, according to reports from TEAMtalk.
The Red Devils are reportedly looking to bolster their defensive lineup with a new center-back in the coming year.
While Erik ten Hag’s side has been keeping an eye on numerous targets, including Antonio Silva, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Goncalo Inacio, Chalobah is now emerging as a prominent candidate for the role.
The English star is reportedly poised to leave Chelsea next year due to his surplus status at Stamford Bridge.
According to TEAMtalk, United have been closely monitoring the youngster’s situation and might consider making a move for him in the January transfer window.
The West Londoners have set a £45 million price tag on their player, meaning Man United would need to make a decent financial commitment to secure his services if they decide to pursue him.
However, the report suggests that acquiring the 24-year-old won’t be a straightforward task for the English giants, as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in signing him.
Chalobah is reportedly open to staying in England and competing in the Premier League, which could make Old Trafford outfit a more appealing option for the defender compared to the Bundesliga giants.
The centre-back is still under contract for another five years, which puts the club in a strong position to demand an attractive transfer fee if they decide to let their academy graduate depart next year.

Chalobah is a versatile player capable of filling multiple roles in the defense as well as in the midfield. He exhibits qualities such as speed, strength, technical proficiency, aerial ability, comfort with playing out from the back, strong defensive contributions, and a keen understanding of the game.
The Englishman is a highly talented player with considerable potential, making him a promising signing for United if they choose to pursue him.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Premier League record champions will make a concrete effort to acquire his services if he becomes available in January.
