Manchester United is highly likely to make a shocking move for the re-signing of their former star, Romelu Lukaku, from Chelsea this summer.
The Belgian striker, who once played for Manchester United, had a tough time during his initial spell at Old Trafford but has remarkably rejuvenated his career.
Lukaku scored 21 goals in the last season while on loan at AS Roma, and now he has again come onto the radar of the Red Devils.
As per Calciomercato, Manchester United is greatly in dire need of improving its attacking force this summer.
Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee is the primary target, with Lukaku only be signed in case of a deal gone bad.
The latter is looking to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis and this time he will be with a lot more of experience and clear goal-scoring record that would be of a lot of help at Old Trafford.
Part of Lukaku’s time at Chelsea has been pretty bad, therefore he is searching for a different beginning where he will have the option to play frequently.

A return to Manchester United could bear that possibility out well given his fine form displayed at AS Roma, he could turn out to be a valuable addition into Erik ten Hag’s squad despite the past struggles.
It is not just Manchester United reportedly interested in Lukaku. AC Milan has also shown interest in the Belgian striker along with Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka.
Now, according to credible sources like Gianluca Di Marzio—AC Milan has opened direct talks with Chelsea over a possible double transfer.
In real sense, the Red Devils need a prolific scorer ahead of next year’s campaign.
The Blues are also eyeing Joshua Zirkzee, who scored 12 goals for Bologna last season.
Zirkzee, with his technical and physical strengths, would be well-suited to Manchester United’s front line. He can make all kinds of attack even stronger with Rasmus Hojlund.
A consistent striker in Manchester United’s developments is crucial as they look towards rebuilding the team for next season.

Whether they finally sign Zirkzee or even bring back Lukaku, a reliable forward is a need if they are to achieve their future goals.
Meanwhile, AC Milan is in the market for Lukaku due to his great form in Serie A.
Should Lukaku decide to force his way out of Chelsea, Milan would give him the regular playing time he is begging for.
The move, therefore, would also favor Chelsea by getting rid of Lukaku.
In summary, this summer transfer window might see Romelu Lukaku make a surprising comeback to Manchester United or open a new chapter in Italy with AC Milan.
