Manchester City willing to spend big for Chelsea target Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City are reportedly willing to spend big to land RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, a top transfer target for Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

Gvardiol has emerged as the priority name on the shopping list for the Blues boss Potter who heads into his first transfer window at Stamford Bridge on the hunt for reinforcements to bolster his injury hit backline.

According to a report from Sky Sports News, it is claimed that the Premier League holders Manchester City are prepared to table a £110 million bid to land Gvardiol amid interest from rival clubs in the Leipzig centre-back.

The Blues have been keen on the Croatian international since the summer where then-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had come close to completing a deal for snapping up the 20-year-old who has some of Europe’s top clubs on his radar.

Gvardiol played every minute of his country’s run to the semi-finals where the 2020 World Cup runners-up were handed a resounding 3-0 defeat by Lionel Messi’s Argentina and will now complete for the third-place finish against Morocco.
