It is a rehearsal for the Champions League final showdown which is to be held later this month on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium as Manchester City welcome Chelsea for a high-billed top-flight clash.
Chelsea are yet to secure top-four credentials in the Premier League standings and with just four games left to play for, Thomas Tuchel’s in-form side will be aiming to end the season on a high and even try to close the gap on the third-placed Leicester City who sit just two points adrift of the west Londoners.
The Blues put out a thoroughly convincing performance in the 2-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday night at the Bridge with goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount ensuring a much memorable victory for Tuchel and his men.
Against the runaway leaders Manchester City it is always going to be a stern test for the Blues and with the hosts requiring just a win to confirm their status as the top-flight champions, Chelsea are sure to expect Pep Guardiola’s men turning up at their very best on their own patch.
