Manchester City are credited with an interest in Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic who has to take a big decision over his future with the Blues.
The Croatia midfielder is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2024 and the former Real Madrid man could leave west London in a cut price deal with Chelsea likely to cash in on him during the summer.
According to a report from The Telegraph, the 28-year-old Kovacic has the Premeir League champions Manchester City chasing his signature with the manager Pep Guardiola looking for an alternative to his first choice target Jude Bellingham.
The Borussia Dortmund talent Bellingham remains the top name on the shopping list for Guardiola who wants to reinforce his engine room over the summer but faces a hard task signing the Englishman with Liverpool and Real Madrid also in the fray.
With Kovacic approaching the final 12 months of his current contract, it remains to be seen whether the Blues boss Graham Potter and co-owner Todd Beohly make an effort to retain the midfielder or allow him to head out the exit door.
